My Little Mermaid!by ~tashiepie

My very first vector! Be gentle, I know I messed a lot of stuff up and it's not as smooth as it could be in some areas. XD

I'd always known that Tara has voiced Melody from The Little Mermaid II, which had always been one of my favorite Disney sequels as well.

However, the idea for this didn't spring into my mind until I heard the 40-minute long interview that EQD shared with Tara. She'd been talking about her role in The Little Mermaid, but instead of saying The Little Mermaid, she said My Little Mermaid. Anyway, I thought it would be awesome to draw Melody as a pony.

So I sketched out the outline, scanned it to my computer, and decided to try my hand at my very first vector! For those who don't know Melody, or haven't seen TLMII, she's Ariel's daughter, who's dreamed of living in the sea. Like Ariel, she shares her skill for singing. The locket around her neck was given to her as a baby, which projects a holographic image of Atlantica and plays a lullaby when opened. I decided on her Cutie Mark being 3 musical notes/sea shells because she loves the sea, but her real talent is singing. That's how I see it anyway.

So, there ya go! My Little Mermaid! I'm sure some pony's already done it, as this vector took painstakingly long, but figured I'd post it up anyway!

I don't like The Little Mermaid II. When I say I don't like it, that doesn't mean I don't like Melody herself, but I do think that the movie was a near complete retread of the original.
